A Statement From the Founder
Raw Canvas Institute is the culmination of a lifetime of work, travel, study, mistakes, refinement, and mastery.
For over twenty years, I have dedicated my career to skin health and advanced laser medicine. Over the past decade as a clinic owner, I have travelled extensively across North America, training alongside some of the most respected physicians, laser specialists, and industry leaders, working hands-on with the most advanced technology available in our field.
That journey shaped me. But it also showed me what I wish someone had shown me sooner.
Early in my career, I learned the hard way. Through trial, error, and responsibility. Through moments of uncertainty that could have been avoided with proper mentorship, deeper education, and real clinical exposure. Those experiences became my greatest teachers, and they are the very foundation of Raw Canvas Institute.
My promise to every student is this. I will save you from the mistakes I made, shorten your learning curve, and elevate you in ways you do not yet expect. Amanda Connolly
Founder + Lead Educator
Amanda Connolly is a recognized leader in medical aesthetics, laser education, and clinical mentorship, with over twenty years of hands-on experience working with complex skin conditions and advanced energy-based technologies. She is a technician at heart, an educator by discipline, and a clinic owner and coach by lived experience.
Trained alongside physicians and under medical leadership, Amanda developed a rigorous understanding of skin physiology, wound healing, and laser physics early in her career. This foundation shaped her clinical judgment and continues to define her approach. She is known for mastering multiple laser and light modalities and, more importantly, for knowing how to apply them intelligently and safely in real clinical environments. Her expertise lies in energy–tissue interaction, treatment planning, and decision-making, not protocol-following.
Amanda is the founder of Raw Canvas Skin and Wellness and the creator of Raw Canvas Institute, both built on the belief that excellence in aesthetics begins with education. She also leads a coaching and consulting practice within the aesthetic industry, allowing her to train and support practitioners well beyond the classroom. Through this work, Amanda mentors technicians and clinic owners inside active treatment rooms, guiding them through real-world scenarios, clinical challenges, business decisions, and long-term career development.
As an educator and coach, Amanda teaches the full scope of foundational and advanced practice. From laser physics and safety to clinical application, patient assessment, ethics, and professional accountability, her teaching extends far beyond certification. She prepares students not only to pass courses, but to think, adapt, and lead once they are working independently in clinic.
Amanda’s leadership style is direct, disciplined, and deeply supportive. She is committed to continuing education and long-term mentorship, remaining accessible to students after graduation as they grow into confident, capable professionals. Her goal is not volume, but impact. She trains practitioners who understand the responsibility that comes with energy-based treatments and who are prepared to practice with skill, integrity, and authority.

Brandy LaCroix
Educator
Brandy is a seasoned medical esthetician and advanced skin therapist with close to 20 years of experience in clinical aesthetics. Her career began in 2005 and has since evolved into a deep specialization in medical-grade skin treatments and advanced laser technology.
At Raw Canvas, Brandy plays a key role in delivering high-performance laser services with precision, care, and results at the forefront. With a background in clinical training and laser education, she brings a wealth of knowledge to every treatment whether it’s pigmentation correction, skin rejuvenation, vascular work, or hair removal.
Having worked as both a trainer and technician, Brandy’s expertise lies not only in her technical skill, but in her ability to connect with patients on a deeper level. She understands that the skin is personal. For many, it’s a mirror of how we feel inside. That emotional connection fuels her passion to help others feel seen, confident, and empowered throughout every stage of their skin journey.
Brandy is here to support Raw Canvas patients with personalized care and clinically driven results. Her goal is simple: to ensure every treatment is not only effective, but an experience that helps you reconnect with your most polished, confident self.

Raw Canvas Institute was created out of necessity.
After more than two decades working hands-on in advanced skin and laser medicine, and over ten years as a clinic owner and entrepreneur, one truth has become impossible to ignore. Too many graduates are leaving laser schools unprepared for real-world clinical practice. They know the terminology, but not the esponsibility. They understand theory, but not execution. They are certified, yet still unsure.
Raw Canvas Institute exists to change that.

An Intentionally Small, Elite Learning Environment. We are a non-accredited institute by design. This allows us to teach without compromise.
Each intake is limited to a maximum of six students, guided by two highly experienced instructors. This structure ensures every student receives close supervision, direct feedback, and true hands-on experience, not observation from the back of a room.
